Lost in the Illusion.
Your love, Not yours.
I remember the time,
When you told me,
“You are my life,”
I was overjoyed,
Proud to be yours.
I kept losing myself
In every word you said,
Wandering,
Why was I getting lost?
In this journey of the heart,
You were all I saw.
I placed you
Above everything,
Thinking of you
More than my mother.
Yes, it was my mistake,
I overthought you,
My mother warned me,
“Son, look away that’s not for you.”
But I clung to phone calls,
Texts, and messages,
Made you my whole world.
I fought for you.
Believing you
were my only desire.
But I fell hard
When I heard the truth,
Your love, not yours,
I didn’t believe,
But I was lost.
