The holidays are often glorified for how wonderful they are. However, for a great number of people the holidays are extremely stressful. For a number of people holidays are part of childhood traumas they bring into adulthood. Dysfunctional families are magnified as much if not more than loving and caring families. There is probably not other time of the year when social and financial differences are so obvious.
🎁PROMPT 9: Talk about a gift you always wanted or wanted at a point in your life that you didn’t receive for one reason or another.🎁
For me, not so much a particular gift but more but just the general feeling of a Christmas where you didn’t have to be on alert for something to go wrong and spoil the holiday. I can still remember a Christmas my father yelled at me about making coffee and my mom had to talk me out of driving back to Virginia on Christmas Day. She did and my father offered a rare apology.
