How Meditation helped me deal with anxiety

I have dealt with anxiety most of my life.
For years, it was a constant companion, but it was not clinical. It was mainly due to improper weight and life circumstances.
In those years, I tried to find all sorts of remedies I could find to cure, or at least reduce anxiety.
I tried meditation (though never any medication), certain foods, self-help books, breathing techniques, positive affirmations, doing things I enjoyed, talking to myself as a wise mentor, and much more.
It’s true that as I started to maintain my weight in the ‘healthy’ range, and just grew up over the years(!), my anxiety decreased a lot.
But I want to share the one thing that worked the most for me during that time.
It kept me ‘sane’ during that turbulent time.
