Bubbles
Find your joy
iridescent spheres
cast against a gray sky
sprinkled with raindrops–
floating along a dreamscape,
childhood exists
in the fringes
of soap bubbles–
squeals of laughter
hidden amongst
groans of responsibility…
until magical wands wave
freedom for joy
A couple weeks ago, I was driving home from work after a particularly hard day during a particularly stressful week. I pulled up to a light and was gifted a moment of joy from the car in front of me. As we sat waiting for the inevitable change, bubbles wafted from the passenger-side windows, obscuring the car and brightening my day. I wish I could have captured a photo, but I am grateful my mind captured the image in verse. Too often it holds onto the negative and painful. I hope you share in my moment of joy through this poem.
