Unbounded Beauty on the Takshanuk Trail

Another moment of ecstatic silence, in awe of the natural world, comes at a stop on the Takshanuk Trail.
My guides, Sabrina and her six-year-old daughter, Lily, lead me and a few others to the top of a 3000-foot mountain where we see the view seen in the picture above.
The Chilikoot Lake, flowing into the Chilikoot River (where we saw the brown bears,) flowing into the Lutac Inlet of the Pacific Ocean. This is a basic fact of earth science, how water moves to the ocean, but never have I seen such a clear example of the process. I am elated by the sight.
