I Misjudged the Matterhorn and Paid a Painful Price
My alternate title was “Mountaineering for Morons, Don’t Be Me”
Neither John nor I is exactly normal. Lawyers aren’t known for being laid back and we can be highly competitive. That’s why, when two of us get married, life gets interesting fast.
We took interesting to a whole new level by living and working out of the Chateau de Barbereche, just outside Fribourg, Switzerland. Not a bad home/office, if I do say so myself —
John had bought an apartment there shortly before we met, and I wasn’t unhappy with his choice.
One of the problems with living someplace unbelievable is figuring out where to go on vacation. When we got married in Gruyère, one of the guests asked where we were honeymooning and I almost said —
“At home, you idiot.”
We actually ended up going to EuroDisney and staying in Snow White’s castle for a couple days which was very cool, but I digress, as always…
