The Small Victories in Everyday Life
How walking saved my mental health
Since I understood what it means to hit rock bottom, I began to appreciate the small victories, those simple acts that we take for granted. You wake up one day and realize that you have lost all your energy, you struggle to stand and your whole body is on fire.
- What do you do?
You can’t do anything but only pray that everything will go well and that you can walk again. This is what happened two years ago, a surgery that changed the course of my life. I would have liked things to go differently but, every experience is a lesson to learn from;
- right?
Walking is a daily routine that I cannot do without.
Being able to walk even for half an hour is a privilege that I appreciate and take advantage of because I know what it means to stay in bed all day due to chronic fatigue and health problems.
Whenever I have the chance I walk, and when the weather doesn’t promise it I’m on the balcony jumping with my trampoline which has the same benefits as walking if not more.
