Let’s face it, having a mental health issue in the modern world is like juggling flaming swords while riding a unicycle on a tightrope. It’s not just the struggle with the actual illness that’s hard, but also dealing with the absurdities of society. So, here’s a list of the top 10 things that suck about having mental health issues today, brought to you by someone who’s been there, done that, and got the T-shirt.

The Stigma: People still think mental illness is a sign of weakness or a personal failing. Newsflash, folks: we didn’t choose this life! It’s not like we woke up one day and thought, “Hey, I’d love some crippling anxiety today!” Get over yourselves.
