The Use Of Barter In Philanthropy And More
The world of non-cash currencies
Many individuals and corporations donate products, services, and barter trade credits to various relief organizations. They support important charitable work, receive letters of acknowledgement, and can report these donations for tax purposes at the value of the donation. Some of the organizations that have benefited include Feed the Children, the Village of Many Tribes, and the Amazon Basin Benevolent Association.
Many charities are supported by donations of barter credits.
Project Barter Feed is a program started several years ago by a medical doctor for the purpose of helping homeless and migrant workers in Florida. Another charity, the Alpha-Omega Foundation, has an ongoing mission goal to participate in programs designed to help reduce suffering associated with national disasters, alcohol, drug abuse, and other dependency addictions. They have made substantial donations to flood relief organizations and other humanitarian efforts.
