Stepping into Muck Can Spoil a Day

No one wants to step into an interview with dirty shoes

It was the day of an important interview. This was the job that he wanted and needed, it had all the perks. There was more money than the old job, it had a better office with a great view over the city. His new newspaper Sub-editor job was perfect for Isaac. He had been training his whole life for this job.

Isaac set his alarm for five in the morning. He was too anxious and excited and could not sleep that night. He got up at 4:30 am, started his meditation and short exercise routine before breakfast, and got his clothes ready for his interview.

At 8:00 am, Isaac left his home. He had his whitest shirt, a dark blue suit, a matching tie, and his polished shoes. Isaac looked at himself in a shop window, as he rushed to get the bus. It was at that time that he stepped into a murky puddle of water. It had rained the previous night and the roads were still wet.

Isaac was furious. How, could he have been so stupid and not looked at where he was going, he asked himself. He could not go back home. He would lose time and be late for the interview and his dream job. He wanted to be an Editor for the “Starfire News” and being a Sub-editor would take him one step closer to that…
