Between Dusk and Dawn

A life we built, brick by brick,
Crumbles like a house of clay.
Shattering me like a broken dream,
You are gone — too far away.

When the alarm goes off,
I get so annoyed.
I want to scream at you,
But there’s no one by my side.

The morning cup of coffee.
Reminds of your sleepy eyes.
How much I am in love with them,
Never before I realized.

Amidst the chaos of the day,
With a never-ending list of to-dos,
Not a moment passes by,
Without a fleeting thought of you.

Standing on the balcony,
I see the sun go down.
I miss you a little more,
And in your memories, I drown.

Evening brings thoughts,
That I try hard to outrun.
But shadows of you linger,
Long after the day is done.

The day passes,
But the night gets lonely.
I stare at the ticking clock,
Wondering why you still own me.
