Wild and Free
A poem for free spirits
I have the same wish for you
As I do for me.
To live wild
And always be free.
Married so young
I just didn’t see.
How the monster in him
Would crush the spirit in me.
Eight years would pass
Before I could leave.
After I ran
I could finally breathe.
For two years I lived
Wild and free.
Before falling for another
Just like he.
Seven years inside.
Two to break free.
Now that I have
I’m finally me.
Loving myself
As I was born to be.
Turns out in the end
That’s all I really need.
You are all you need to be.
Live wild, my dear.
And be forever free.
