Have you ever felt like no matter how much you achieve, it’s never enough? Like you’re on a treadmill, always running toward the next goal but never quite getting there? That was me, for a long time. I was addicted — not to substances, but to success.

Success feels amazing, doesn’t it? That rush when you hit a goal, win an award, or land a big deal. It’s like a little voice in your head saying, “You did it! You’re worth something!” But here’s the problem: that feeling doesn’t last. Soon, you’re chasing the next achievement, and then the next, like a hamster spinning its wheel.

How Work Took Over My Life

Let me paint a picture for you. It’s 8 p.m., and I’m glued to my laptop. My phone buzzes with messages from friends, but I ignore them. I tell myself, I’ll make time for them later. Right now, I need to focus on work.

Weeks turn into months, and “later” never comes. My relationships start to fade. I miss birthdays, cancel plans, and give half-hearted responses to people who care about me. But it’s okay, I think. They’ll understand. I’m working toward something bigger.

Except they don’t understand. And neither did I.

What I didn’t realize was that my constant drive to succeed had turned into an obsession. I wasn’t working…
