Sadly this isn’t much of a discussion anymore since Amazon slashed their commission rates on the Affiliate program.
The most lucrative of niches used to earn 9% in commission, and now only gets 5%. Sites that earned 3% commission now only earn 1%. It’s been a pretty big blow for a lot of affiliate marketers who have been looking at other programs to get revenue streams back to a level pre-Amazon-affiliate-change.
Other viable options include Awin, Rakuten Linkshare, ShareASale, ClickBank, and CJ by Conversant.
Each program has its own nuance where some have a simple signing-up process and are really easy to use to find merchants, while others host stores from leading brands, and others have merchants that set their own commission rates.
I’d recommend you spend just as much time, if not more, on ensuring your content is high quality.
