What’s More Important? Love or Career?
Why do I have to choose?
I have always valued love. And I have always wanted to make an impact in this world through my work and achievements.
I never felt like choosing one over the other. I just always knew that both had equal standing in my life — maybe love a bit more.
I place great importance on marriage. I really want to get married one day. Live life peacefully with my husband, maybe have one or two kids. It’s what I’ve always wanted.
But I’ve also wanted to make something of myself, achieve all of my dreams and goals, and pursue my passions. While love is important, you should also prioritize your hobbies and the things you’re passionate about because you can’t revolve your entire identity around your marriage.
What matters more though? To me, it’s both. I can’t choose. I think you can juggle your love life and career at the same time. You can have both. It’s not one over the other. Some people feel like they have to choose, which is fine. But I don’t understand why. You can have both and be content with your life.
What if I met the man of my dreams at a time where I was at the height of my success? I couldn’t possibly give him up and a future with him because of my career? I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t.
