As summer taunts us from just around the corner, life begins to shift. It’s time for spring cleaning, airing out the house, planting hopeful gardens, dusting off the mower…

For many of us, (especially us ladies, because who can deny the need for ever-increasing closet space!) spring shifts also mean swapping out the bulky sweaters and coats of our winter wear for our light and breezy summer wardrobe.

Of course, with the wardrobe swap-outs, the unswaddling of our bodies out of heavy winter garb, and the planning of vacations and day trips… this always seems to come hand in hand with the sudden cliched desperation to shed those extra pounds that came with winter gloom.

Honestly, I maintain that this winter gain is purely and scientifically natural. All animals inherently work to put on pounds for winter in order to survive the cold and keep their bodies working properly! Then they allow the sun to just melt the surplus away! Right? Maybe? No?

Either way, spring marks the traditional “Half Year New Year” with a second wind to refresh those resolutions and goals…
