The iPad as Main Computer? My Experiment for you
Ever wondered what it’s like to use only the iPad as day-to-day computer? Could it be a real solution for you or is it just to look fancy at the coffee shop?
Tablets like iPads are fantastic pieces of technology. Entry-level models are way cheaper than computers but still powerful.
It’s tempting to consider them as our daily companion and save some bucks. How is it in reality? Follow me in this non-scientific, totally biased experiment!
The context
Not everyone uses the computer the same way. Here’s the context for this experiment.
I usually use both Apple and Microsoft devices, no judgment here! I was given the opportunity to use an iPad 9th generation and wanted to use it as replacement for home computing, meaning:
- Browsing internet
- Reading and writing stories
- Watching a few videos
- Doing some research on stocks and funds, tech and programming
- Using spreadsheets for budgeting
Really basic stuff, no audio/video editing, no image manipulation, no mobility constraints.
