Safe Haven and War
My experience as an innocent child living in my own world during a time of war, oblivious to the danger I was actually in
I had a dream of planets crashing and sky falling. The next day, happened just that. We were fish in a tank, oblivious to the outer dimension, nibbling on our chips and playing cards, while tanks and drones aimed at our keep. Turbulence shook our ship with death-drenched hands. One, two, three… and a last cacophonous earthquake in the break of the earliest rays of sun. Finished bombing, now our parents can go back to sleep, or endeavor with raised eyebrows and hope-leaking dreams. I took their share from the sand-man, like a baby in its mothers arms. I ate apples, cut and peeled, had long laughs with the cousin, the moon, and the warships, floating by a clutched helium balloon, ascending to the ceiling of my bubble.
