In a world where our phones rule every part of our existence, I made the decision to take a drastic measure: I gave up my phone for two weeks.

No emails, no Facebook, no constant buzz. Pure silence. The idea of being disconnected was frightening at first, but I soon realized how much it affected my mental focus, productivity, and overall sense of well-being.

What began as an experiment became a life-changing experience, one that taught me valuable lessons in living in the moment, putting real relationships first, and finding peace in the absence of incessant digital distractions. Here’s what I learned.

The initial three days were the toughest. I didn’t know just how deeply ingrained my phone had become in my life.

When I woke up, I automatically went for it to see the time and emails, only to remind myself that I left it on the counter.
