How to make better decisions in your life? Here are my 10 strategies.
Decision-making is such an underrated skill.
I’ve made a lot of significant decisions in my life. Some were great, others not so much.
The great decisions that I’ve taken can be broken down into:
- The place where I live today: London, UK coming from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
- The work I choose to do. I work in Strategy for Mondelez International.
- Hobbies: I practice a wide array of hobbies from weight lifting to football to dancing salsa.
The bad decisions I’ve taken were:
- To not care about politics at work, including biting my tongue when I should have.
- To not trust my gut intuition and first decision basis. For example, Henry Ford was a person that took decisions quickly but was slow to change his mind.
I feel qualified to talk about this because I’ve changed my life multiple times including my place of living (I lived in Sao Paulo, Florida, Munich, Brussels and London); who to date (I have had three long-term girlfriends); what to work on (have changed my career path from Sales to Strategy).
Without further ado, here are my lessons from my 31 years of experience taking various decisions.
