How I Get 2x More Work Done in a Day with the Pomodoro Technique
Unlocking True Productivity with the Pomodoro Technique
“I can’t focus.”
I said this to myself so many times that the sentence became automatic. I sit at the table, turn on the computer and… 15 minutes later I find myself watching cat videos on YouTube. My mind was scattered, work piled up, days mixed up. Until one day I took the Pomodoro technique seriously.
What is this “Tomato” Technique?
I initially thought “Pomodoro” reminds me only about Italian cuisine. However, it was actually the name of the old kitchen timer in the form of the tomato. A simple but effective method:
You focus on one task for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break. When you complete 4 sessions, there is a long break of 15–30 minutes.
Frankly, I didn’t expect much from my first try. But I rediscovered myself in these little time boxes.
Time Constraints Create Miracles
Don’t say “What can be done in 25 minutes?” This time restriction is what motivated me.
That little time period There is no social media. No notification. No mental distractions.
