Glory and the Spoils of Battle to All Introverts
For once can the thinking man or woman get the juice, instead of the mouthy one!
I have a hunch that Medium is introvert central, if you pause to think about the attributes of introverts (and if you are an introvert you probably already have, deeply). They tend to be:
— reflective, self-aware, careful with decisions, best express themselves in writing rather than speaking, comfortable being alone, creative, problem solve through scenario-based imagination, concentrate better in quiet surroundings, etc.
These are also some of the essential characteristics of writers. That is not to say that extroverts can’t be excellent writers and tap into these qualities too, of course they can, but it is probably more natural to introverts.
Imagine for a moment a very large room with all of the Medium writers present. If you were to throw a stone, what would be the probability you would hit an introvert? It would be quite high perhaps 60% or greater. If you were to throw a second stone what would be the probability you would hit an introvert? Probably close to 100%, all of the extroverts would have run or ducked down, the introverts would still be thinking about the why of the first stone!
