Jump Into Emptiness

Once, I was getting ready to make a parachute jump, and honestly, I got super freaked out.

I turned pale and was shaking like crazy, not saying a peep.

My mind was racing at that moment, but nothing sensible came into my mind or out of my mouth. It was overloaded.

Then, I jumped. All the panic disappeared. No spinning thoughts, simply falling. It felt like my “self” no longer existed at that moment.

All my day-to-day worries disappeared, and no life flashed before my eyes, just nothing. Just emptiness.

But what a wonderful emptiness!

The border between the world and myself became blurred. You can imagine how disappointed I was when I landed.

I felt like I had awoken from a wonderful dream but could not remember what made it so beautiful.

I haven’t done a jump since out of the fear that it would never be as wonderful as the first time, wonderfully empty.

No Thinking or Feeling?
