Did Technology change humans' social activities?
Learn about how technology has affected humans' social life
Introduction:
As I reflect on my childhood, I remember how happy everyone seemed. I’m not sure if it was because I was a child without any worries, or if people were genuinely happier back then. Neighbours were closer, and families were more involved in each other’s lives.
Now that I am an adult, I barely know my neighbours. It seems that neither I nor they are curious about one another or care at all. I wonder if this has anything to do with technology.
Upon closer examination, we realize that the issue is deeper than it appears. I believe we were more social during our childhood than we are as adults.
Today, toddlers are often referred to as “iPad kids,” whereas we didn’t have access to such technologies when we were growing up. This raises an important question: does technology actually change our social lives?
I have tried to compare different eras of our lives — from the past to the present — to better understand these changes in our behaviour.
Childhood:
When I was a child, I had many dolls, especially Barbies. I would invite my friends over, and we would play…
