Declutter Your Mind
Find your potential
It is easy to accumulate so much in our lives — and not just things that occupy space. This is also true of the things that occupy our attention.
What clutters our minds robs us of clarity and focus. When our minds are cluttered, we are easily distracted and can be wildly unproductive.
Decluttering must be a routine endeavor if we want to accomplish meaningful outcomes and achieve sustainable joy.
Lesson to Learn
Our attention is a limited commodity.
We can only think about, focus on, and process so much. When we let our minds take on too much, it makes us less effective. It also can significantly reduce our efficiency.
Focus means excluding those nonessential thoughts — for at least a moment so we can do deep work and get important tasks done.
Having a longer task list does not get us focused. Declaring what is essential and placing focus there is what makes us successful. So many things can distract us.
Our devices make us feel like we need to do something when we don’t even yet know what is essential.
