I have missed you all so much. I have not been able to write consistently since August 2024, when I returned to work as a special education teacher. I had enjoyed eight months of writing before that, as I had been on disability.
When I returned to work, I knew it would be challenging to balance learning my job again and continue writing. I thought I would return to my writing a few months later, but I was wrong. Going back to teaching was a much harder adjustment than I had realized.
At the same time, I have been renting a room for my stepmom, so I haven't had a place of my own to come home to. I also lost a lot of time because the commute from work was long. My living situation was taking a toll on my spirit.
I have lost my Joy and confidence as an author, and since August, my identity has been solely that of a special education teacher. There was no time for anything else, no extra space in my brain.
