Let’s be honest, statistics show that only a fraction of people will actually finish reading this. Think about it — most will click away, tempted by a new notification or a flashier piece of content promising a quick dopamine hit.

And I’m not pointing fingers, I get it. Our brains are undergoing a massive rewiring, unlike anything we’ve seen before. It’s a pattern playing out across every social platform. That restless feeling, that constant urge to check your phone? You’re not alone.

I’m writing this because I’ve been feeling it lately. The same restlessness, the inability to focus on books or movies. The thought of losing my ability to think deeply scares me.

Since quitting social media isn’t an option for me, I decided to dive deep into this phenomenon — the history, the future, and the underlying causes — and share what I learned with you.

Stick with me, and I’ll break down what’s happening inside your head, why it’s happening, and what we can do about it. Understanding how our brains react to this modern overload is crucial because we risk losing focus, creativity, and insight.
