Be A Proud Amateur!
Experts are overrated
I have been thinking a lot about this topic.
We all have a tendency to want to be experts. We often enjoy highlighting what we know. It helps us get promoted to new roles based on what we know.
Or does it? Increasingly, I believe it can limit our growth.
Why? Because an amateur is someone who listens and learns.
This can allow us to break through the old and create something new and exciting. Creativity is about learning, adapting, and recombining successful elements into our lives.
As amateurs, we octane can be better at creating and learning from our experiences.
Lesson to Learn
When we acknowledge we are amateurs who are willing to learn, we open up the possibility of our creating something new and remarkable.
We don’t need to give up our expertise in some areas to embrace being an amateur in so many other areas.
It’s in the learning that we gain useable wisdom.
Mistakes are usually more valuable than our successes. We can learn from all aspects of our lives. When we do, we become more creative and valuable to everyone in our lives.
