A Look Back At December
A New Style for Myself
So, it’s 2025.
December was a wild ride. I tried changing my publishing schedule, and I tried to modify what I wrote and what I submitted. And it caused a heck ton of changes in my views and reads.
I changed in two specific ways for December —
Writing Less
While this may seem counterintuitive, I realized that by reducing my frequency but increasing the amount of work I put into each of my stories, I was effectively building my writing strength gradually and effectively, while also creating for myself an effective schedule for writing.
While it might have been possible for me to write more frequently and more expressively during the end of 2024, I realized that this freedom is a luxury that I cannot afford during the rest of my years of Medium, and I would need a better, shorter and more succinct writing frequency.
Thus, I have started aiming for writing just 2 articles every week.
Variety & Style
While publishing in popular and bigger publications may be something that is beneficial for views and reads, I have also realized that such a technique is not sustainable in the long run.
Building a portfolio of poems, book recommendations and short stories is more important to me than just garnering views or money.
This has also prompted me to push back my plan to subscribe as a member further in the year. I want to test out and stabilize a new writing plan before I go further in my journey.
