3 Reasons to Start Writing
Please, grab a pen and do yourself a favor
So you have a huge temptation to start writing online but hesitate for no reason? Why?
Is it because you fear some sort of “rejection” or feel insecure about not knowing what lies ahead?
It might sound like a shocker but, plot twist, WE ALL DID AT SOME POINT
However, there are many reasons to prove yourself wrong just as we did…
1. 100% Failproof
It’s grabbing a pen and writing what comes to mind, why is that so hard to do? Writing is about expressing and being creative, it does not have to be about anything else. From writing on a napkin to writing in your future blog, It is still being born out of your creativity and inspiration. There is no limit to what written masterpieces might come out of you giving writing a shot. Writing and posting it online is just a way to expose yourself online; Not a binding contract with the Internet regarding an article you wanted to share.
There are only three possible outcomes of writing online.
The first outcome, if you write and it goes well? Then congratulations, you should be proud and continue to work now knowing you have potential.
The second outcome, if you write and it is not as expected? Then congratulations, you now have the feedback to improve and continue scaling your quality of work.
The third outcome, if you don’t choose to write? Then not even congratulations, you’ll never know what untapped potential you may have or if writing was your bridge to opportunities.
…It is pretty evident that 2 of 3 outcomes sound positive for people interested in potentially writing.
2. Your judgment outweighs anybody else’s
Let's be sincere, many people hesitate to write as soon as they stop to think about what the world might think.
- “What if my friends find out?”
- “Will my words be of some value?”
- “Can I reach the level of talent as XYZ authors?”
- A THOUSAND MORE THOUGHTS AND DOUBTS
It is inevitable to overthink questions such as these when it comes to “breaking the ice” of writing.
In all reality, there are many individuals open to the practice of writing and sharing these words in large communities. Yes, some people will and can judge down the road, but the minority should not represent the majority that is always open to connecting with other writers or authors.
It is really easy to quickly assume that nobody will read your words but it is not the reality. Many upcoming writers are also waiting for the same support you desire. The hard truth is that most people don’t even care if you write or not. On the contrary, you will be surprised at how many people find it impressive that you dare to share your passion on the public forum.
3. Connect with yourself and the world
This is the most important reason to write in my opinion.
First of all, your main priority with writing should be because you enjoy doing so. Not because you have an end goal regarding somebody else’s opinion. Do it because it makes you content and satisfied with your work.
Writing is your bridge to your thoughts and ideas; A way to understand what goes on your mind. It is a way to connect with yourself and even analyze topics that spark curiosity within you. Once that is clear in your mind, then you can be affirmative in sharing what you desire with the world.
Yes, it can be daunting to hit those “post” or “publish” buttons, But it can also be one of the best decisions you can make. As I mentioned in the second reason, there are thousands of individuals ready to share ideas. This should not be any different for you as a potentially upcoming writer. Your words have the potential to come across multiple eyes on the internet. Who knows? Maybe a small post in your mind can be an inspiring piece for many others.
In conclusion…
Grab that pen or type on that keyboard, Why not? It can be the start of something great for you. One simple step can be the first step to a whole journey awaiting. It can be your way to unlock a new side of your mind or even the power of inspiring other minds. You will never know until you allow yourself to take the shot…
