Monthly Writing Prompts — November 2023

Greetings humans!

You must be familiar with the times when you procrastinate on something until the last minute and finally get it done on the night before the D-Day, right? Well, that’s me right now, posting the November Monthly Prompts on 30th November.

Anyway, I hope you find something here that prompts you to put on your writing hats.

  • Doodling and other little habits

I love the sound of a pencil gently grazing across paper. Oh and sketch pens — they make a satisfying sound too. If you open a random page from any of my notebooks from school, you’d see something drawn in the margins. Every square inch of my study table was covered in either pencil, pen or “whitener” (a white liquid marker to cover ink). For as long as I can remember, I’ve always doodled. This habit was so automatic that oftentimes I wouldn’t realize I was doing it. Now that I look back, it seemed to be my go-to “zoning out” activity. Kind of like a stim. Do you have any such habits? Do you also doodle a lot?

  • Pets and responsibilities

Life update: I got two kittens last month… Oreo and Pamplemousse aka Pom-Pom (I’ll share pictures in another article soon ☺).

Before this, we’ve had family pets (dogs) and I’ve taken care of other peoples’ pets (mostly dogs) for short periods, so I knew what it meant to live with a pet. But becoming a pet parent hit me differently —
