You Are Worthy of the Love and Care You So Freely Give
You are worthy of all the love in the world just the way you are
I have always been the kind of person who loves too much and cares too deeply — giving without expecting anything in return. I have spent countless hours listening to others at their lowest, even when I was breaking inside. Without a second thought, I offered whatever I had, set aside my own needs, and made myself easily available to anyone who needed me.
At first I believed that only giving was enough — love should be pure and unconditional not measured by a balance sheet of profit and loss. I told myself that if I expected anything in return, it would no longer be love but a transaction, a business exchange. Loving deeply and caring freely, without the need for reciprocation, was simply who I was — a compassionate soul who found fulfillment in giving.
But after giving so much of myself to others, when I was at my lowest, when I needed someone the most, I was left alone with a heavy heart and teary eyes.
I would scroll through my contact list, searching for a name I could reach out to without hesitation, but I found no one in the list.
For a long time, I carried these thoughts like a weight on my chest.
