When he’s not in Central Park or and strapping them to the top of a minivan to take home, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It’s going just about as well as you might expect.

RFK Jr. has jumped onto the anti-fluoridation train. It doesn’t matter that there are no well-documented cases of fluoride in U.S. water causing ill health. It doesn’t matter that it improves dental health across the socio-economic spectrum. He’s going to .

He’s praising the state of Utah, which recently from adding fluoride to the water supply. More states are hoping to follow. I don’t know if dentists in Utah are seeking more business, but they are the only ones who might benefit.

Yes, consuming high levels of fluoride can be dangerous. That’s why we don’t use high levels in our drinking water, just as we don’t put murderous levels of salt in our food, or swallow an entire bottle of iron supplements all at once.
