There is a Story Behind This Photo
But it’s not what it seems
I am using this photo to tell you what I’m not going to tell you. There is a story here — a story worth telling. It deals with relationships, regret, loss, disappointment, greed, hope, and love.
Writing that story would take me days. Unpacking that emotional bundle would require intense reflection, fortitude, and strength. The emotional cost of that experience would be paid with tears.
Then there would be multiple hours reviewing and editing the story to ensure that I was fair and balanced in my storytelling. It would be done because I love writing and I believe in the value of the story and the life lessons it contains.
However, I am not going to write that story. It is a decision I have made to show support for my jeetwincasinos.community.
You have heard the noise — multiple writers expressing disbelief at what has been happening to our earnings in the past few days. Many writers say they will not publish any more stories until this issue is resolved. You don’t have to look far to see stories like this:
Medium Has Stopped Paying Writers cries out . Take a quick peek at the comments in that story and it is clear to see that people are not happy. Many members are cancelling their Friends of Medium membership or flying the coop to other platforms. has also been banging that drum, with her followers joining the chorus of discontent. And there are plenty more similar stories.
It is no secret that I am a Medium fanboy. I cut the platform plenty of slack. Medium has been very good to me. So, this is not me joining the choir; this is me supporting my community of writers. I feel what you feel.
Although I do not generally disclose my earnings, I will tell you that I am in the same boat as many of you; my last three stories have earned a grand total of fifty cents — combined. And just like Forrest Gump — that’s all I’m gonna say about that. Draw your own conclusions.
Once again, perhaps naively, I will cut Medium some slack and hope this is a temporary glitch that they are working to rectify. Will I still write for Medium if this trend continues? Well, I wrote for Blogger for over a decade for free, so it is possible that I would do that again here. Time will tell.
