You know the saying…

Blink and you’ll miss it.

Well, that’s what almost happened to me today. I was out on my balcony this afternoon. It is a cool crisp 12 Celsius, with bright sun and blue skies. Very few clouds. I put on a sweater and sat outside with my coffee. Some people might consider this chilly, but I enjoy it. Much better than the hot and sticky weather we are inevitably going to experience shortly. Summer is approaching.

Our apartment is on the top floor (2nd floor) of our mixed-use apartment building. There’s nothing above our balcony except the sky. So there I was today, enjoying a coffee on the balcony, checking the stats on one of my advertising campaigns.

I kept hearing a “honk.”

I wondered where it was coming from. I shrugged and went back to my stats.

“honk…… honk….”

Hmm. There’s that sound again.

I know that’s a Canada Goose. I see them all the time in the parking lot behind our building.

I look around again. Nothing. Just blackbirds on the ground below me right now.
