Your Vote is Personal
What will it do for you?
As Americans, every four years we are trained from youth to vote. It's our American obligation. If you happen to be African American, you have the extra dictate of “Your forefathers fought and died for your right to vote.” If you come from an immigrant family, you may additionally hear, “It's our right to vote, we worked too hard for our status here. Don’t pass it up.” All valid points. All good reasons to get out there and “exercise your franchise.”
As we head to the polls for the 2024 election cycle I pose these questions to the voting masses:
- What does your vote say about you?
- Are you voting your heart?
- Are you voting your convictions?
- Are you voting for a politician whose goals align with yours?
- Are you voting for a platform you legitimately believe in?
- Are you voting for people who make you proud with their list of prior political accomplishments?
- Are you voting YOUR ideals or are you voting a party line?
Many people inherit their politics. They may not have put much solo thought into who they vote for or why. When asked, the reason given may be, “Well, my dad voted…
