Long before they launched the blathering internet

Hera’s milk splashed across all lives, and all earthly intent

Glittering and inviting, sparks set our brains to reeling

Before billionaires set sail to steal our thoughts and feelings

Vast flocks still flew by moonlight, flying in formation

We would coalesce like birds in long migration

Remember the sacred black, before 8,000 satellites

Mother moon and Father sun took turns to draw the night

Tiny dawns of distant worlds, the stars were inspiration

Once upon a time — all that is divine — was our destination
