I hadn’t realised what a huge deal people were making of her laughing

In the summer, I had my first social media spat with someone, and only now do I fully understand why.

I went back to try and apologise recently, but it seems I deleted the original post in question, the direct messages I sent her, and she may even have left the platform altogether because I can’t find her in my blocked list.

I wanted to have all of the facts here and even a report on what happened when I went back to apologise but that’s no longer possible, I think.

This happened on Substack, which I also no longer use because it is filled with the kinds of people who haunt your nightmares, but I don’t think this woman was one of them.

What happened?

I was reading a piece about Kamala Harris, who at that point looked likely to take over from Joe Biden as the candidate.

I said something in the comments section like, “I don’t know much about her except for the laughing when on the phone to Biden when they found out they’d won!” This is why I should have the facts here because maybe I said crazy laughing or wild laughing. I can’t remember.
