A late Fourth Wave Poetry Prompt for January
Good afternoon! And boy, is it a sultry afternoon!
We are in the middle of summer, here, Down Under, and everything inside and outside the house seems to be drooping. Most of the rest of the world is emerging from winter, anticipating spring. We are alternately welcoming summer, and wishing it was not so HOT!
First, an apology
Let me begin with an apology and get it off my chest, first. This post is late. very late. Very, very late. Very, very, very … oh, you get the picture? That’s a relief. You see, December and the first half of January began with mental, spiritual and geographical upheavals.
There was a wedding, and a funeral rite.
One of them was a happy occasion, the other, necessarily, a sombre one. Because of the long duration between the two, we had to stay put in one place, Kerala.
A place that used to be home, once.
That was the tragedy.
I had spent some of my most beautiful years in this place. But when both parents leave the world, there is, necessarily, a loss of connection between siblings, especially if they are far away from each other, geographically. If their natures are…
