Air of Supremacy

White men…
you breathe it in:
supremacy,
like air owed to you.
Inherited.
Unquestioned.

The patriarchy crowned you
the center,
named your voice
the voice.

And so you speak
without listening,
stand
without doubt,
command…
because no one taught you
how to ask.

But hear this:
the comfort you clutch
is pulling you under…
a pride propped on
white women’s silence.

Still,
we believe
you can heal.

But not while
you drown in poison
and call it legacy.

Will you swim…
or sink sweetly
into ancestral myths
that told you
you never had to try?

Beneath the noise,
your soul remembers
a truth unlearned:
Depth,
not dominance.
Presence,
not power.

You were made
for more than myth.
Are you ready
to meet yourself…
at last?

Thank you for sharing in your time to read some of my poetry. I write as a part of my healing journey. I share in the hopes it may lighten the load for fellow travelers along their own soul-filled journey.
Claps, highlights, and comments are digital sunshine.
Peace.
