Double Drabbles are super short fiction tales of only 200 words exactly. This one had to include the word “oval” and, for fun, picks up the story line from my two previous ones.

“Now you’re back, Holmes, we must get to grips with this mysterious clock. Just what in tarnation happened?
“It was indeed the strangest thing. I arrived at this mighty building called a power station that was, I was told, producing electric fluid on such a huge scale as to illuminate all of London! Strangest of all, a descendant of yours, a very pleasant Colm McDrabble, was there to rescue me on instructions from you, dear friend, conveyed by a letter handed down to your unknown future descendants explaining what he was to do based on what I’m going to tell you now, in our time!”
“Quite amazing! But also fortuitous, don’t you see! Perhaps the mechanism that sent you back in time has some kind of inbuilt corrective feature to facilitate a loop back to the time where one belongs?”
