A Drabble is a fiction story of exactly 100 words — no more, no less. So please stick around for 30 seconds so Medium can see it’s been read.

The world of witches, warlocks, wizards, and unicorns was long gone. Humans had won and repopulated the earth. They outlawed all magic, and the last of the magical beings fled and hid.

In a castle hidden by endless groves of spruce trees and poppy fields lived Princess Gretta. She had been locked away since birth due to the unfortunate luck of being born with the gift of magic.

However, one day, a merchant wandered off his path. He witnessed the princess shooting lightning bolts into the sky by her favorite pennant in the tower. And life was never the same.
