Pushing Your Limits For Release
How one girl next door fights depression with MMA
Today’s writing challenge was to write a story using the random word statement.
Drabbles are short in just 100 words. Their brevity demands meticulous precision — every syllable must earn its place. So, linger a while, let the words sink in. Read, highlight, clap, comment — your engagement honors the writer’s craft. LESS text is undoubtedly MORE meaning.
In the deserted parking lot, the statement hangs on the wall like a noose:
“Take the Pain, Coward.”
The underground MMA club gathers, each face speaking rage and determination.
The air stinks of sweat and blood.
Sandra steps into the fight area, fists clenched.
“Is this our freedom?” she yells.
As her vision blurs from a punch, she smiles — a twisted realization.
“Comrades, let’s burn all of our anxiety,” she growls.
She throws herself into every punch and kick, like a release from depression.
The crowd roars, feeling the same liberation.
