Dear Mom,

I fear this may be my last letter. The ice stretches endlessly — I am lost and alone.

The wind howls like a cruel ghost, mocking this foolish explorer who strayed too far. I received Suzie’s “Dear John” letter. Lost in heartbreak, I wandered away. Now, I am simply… lost. The cold gnaws at me, and I miss home, your warm kitchen, and the smell of fresh cornbread.

I see lanterns bobbing through the snow! Admiral Peary’s crew has found me!

Tell everyone I am coming home, and tell Suzie to fudge right the heck off!

Your son, Matthew

Although some dispute , he undisputedly proved that Greenland was an Island.
