The challenge — to write a 200-word story using the word, trickster.

The twist — no twist

Grandmother told Joy all about her new online friend. His name was Tony.

She wanted to send money to help him feed his family.

Alarm bells went off immediately.

Joy was a computer whizz, so after a little digging, she discovered that ‘Tony’ did not exist.

The online profile was a fake.

Tony’s real name was Brian, and it looked like he was schmoozing with several other grandmothers via Facebook.

Once Joy explained to Grandmother that this Tony guy wasn’t real and that he was taking advantage of her, Grandmother felt embarrassed.

That was when Joy decided to get her revenge on this trickster.

She pretended to be Grandmother and sent ‘Tony’ a message. She said she needed his full bank details so she could send money.

Two minutes later, Joy had all the information she needed.

Unbelievably, ‘Tony’s’ account had over £100,000.
