Double Drabbles are microscopically short fiction tales of precisely 200 words. This one had to include the word “sidekick” and begin with “that’s where it all went wrong.”

“That’s where it all went wrong: when the figgin’ wheels came off,” intoned Tony.

“Yeah,” chimed in his sidekick, Sid. “There we were, tooling down the bypass, slowing down for the roundabout when this wheel comes past.”

“That’s right,” chorused the others.

“We had a bit of giggle, then realized we were truly in the manure,” said Tony.

“And when I touched the brakes for the roundabout, the front one came off,” Sid added.

“And we all went arse over tit into the ditch,” said Tony.

“Turned over two or three times, I reckon,” explained Fred.

“We’d a probably still ‘av got away with it,” continued Tony, “if it wasn’t for that Inspector bloody McDrabble.”
