A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds.

Elaine had been a ballroom teacher all her life, and she loved it. The years had worn on her joints, but not her passion.

Tonight, as the rain hammered down on the old roof, she instructed the children for one last time. Their final applause was still ringing in her ears as she slipped outside with a heavy heart.

The splashes of water made her gown glitter like silver. She twirled and stretched out her arms, feeling the rhythm of the rain.

Retiring does not mean stopping.” She whispered. “It means dancing just for me.”

Freedom filled her spinning body.
