If you have a menstruating body, you know what’s coming your way every month. Whether you have found your routine — aka the things that make going through these uncomfortable days less of a bummer— or you’re looking to improve said routine, you’re likely to be relying on feminine hygiene products.

Not so long ago, the conversation about which menstrual products to use, not to mention which products would be safe for our bodies, was close to nonexistent.

Who would have thought that someday there’d be enough options to research that I’d wander the internet an entire evening to find the best menstrual cup?

So when I finally came upon what seemed to be the best option out there, I was relieved. The perfect menstrual cup was safe, ethically-made, rightly-priced and it was produced by a small American company. Yay, right?

Until I found that this brand’s cups are engraved in the inside with a reference to a biblical verse.

I froze, stopped in my tracks.

I double-checked my facts but I had gotten it right: a company was stamping biblical references for women to put up their vaginas, as a “reminder of the life you changed forever”.
