Fallen Angels
How Many Angels Walk Among Us?
As soon as the sun set, Adrinna felt different — not just because it was her 16th birthday. She felt a tingling sensation she had never thought of before that ran down her spine. It hurts more like a burning feeling. And she couldn’t get it to stop. It persisted and started to hurt worse.
She went to the bathroom to see if something may have bitten her. She noticed instead two red bumps on her shoulder blades. It was as if they were protruding out. When she touched it, it was tender. She didn’t know what was going on.
She went downstairs to ask her mother, Mae. Mae wasn’t her biological mother. Adrinna was found at a fire station by Mae and her ex-husband. At the time, he was a firefighter and decided to take her in. They later divorced when Adrinna was around the age of 4. He signed off his custody rights to Mae and it’s been the two of them ever since.
“MOM!” Adrinna screams in a panic.
Mae startled by her sudden scream came running upstairs to Adrinna’s room.
“What is wrong?” Mae replies with panic in her voice.
“Look!”
Mae examined her daughter’s back and saw the two bones extending out of her shoulder blades.
