In The Service Of Others
The service of others is the only true calling.
I have been very fortunate to walk in many circles.
From wandering the halls of higher education to sitting comfortably under a tree and sharing a bottle of cheap bourbon with a stranger.
I broke bread at expensive restaurants and even had a romantic candlelight dinner in a booth at McDonald’s over a Quarter Pounder and some fries.
For a brief time, I was the personal assistant to the Dean of Entrepreneurship at one of the top Jesuit Schools making hotel and car reservations while planning Angel Investor luncheons.
Other times I have stood three deep on a packaging line making sure bratwurst was boxed according to specs, and even held the title of Housekeeper at a local themed hotel.
Nothing is more humbling than cleaning up after a couple who decided to rekindle their love on a queen-sized bed. Or, more exhilarating than helping a student find direction to further their education on any level.
On several occasions, I was the front desk guy, or receptionist if I want to sound professional, for numerous businesses helping clients and employees connect with staff.
I was a bartender. A stripper. I worked in administration. Dispatcher. Social Media…
